Context

A casino brand wanted to attract players in the Philippines using Kick streams. An unusual channel for most advertisers, but casino content is allowed on Kick, unlike Twitch. Budget was $19,000 for four weeks, target FTD under $25.

Launch timeline

Wave by wave

  1. Week 1

    Streamer selection

Selected Kick streamers with Filipino audiences. Checked live viewers, not subscribers: a third of candidates had inflated views.

  2. Weeks 2–3

    Broadcasts

Live unedited play, two to three hours each. Promo code in the description and on screen. Viewer-to-registration conversion around 4%, registration-to-FTD 31%.

  3. Week 4

    Focus on top three

Three streamers out of eight delivered 70% of deposits. We cut the rest and reallocated the budget. Average FTD cost dropped from $24 to $21.3.

Decisions

What worked

Solution 01

Kick instead of Twitch

Twitch banned unlicensed slot streams back in 2022. Kick has fewer restrictions, and the Filipino audience had already migrated there. Stream sponsorship cost on Kick was half the price.

Solution 02

Promo code on screen

The promo code was displayed permanently on the stream overlay, not just in the description. This raised code usage by 40% — stream viewers rarely open the description.

Solution 03

Focusing on the top three

Out of eight streamers, three delivered 70% of all deposits. We cut the rest by the end of week three. Budget was reallocated to repeat broadcasts from the top three — FTD cost dropped from $24 to $21.3.

What did not work

We tried seeding in Filipino Facebook groups dedicated to casinos. Clicks were cheap, but 80% of registrations turned out to be bots: fraudsters used the groups for bonus farming. Fewer than 10% of accounts could be verified. We shut the channel after the first week.
