The cost of a first deposit and what that deposit brings in converge to nearly zero across most GEOs. Operators know this and still judge a flight by FTD — because it lands in the first week, while the repeat deposit takes a month.
What it looks like in numbers
In Tier 2 a first deposit costs $60–180, and the deposit itself is rarely more than $30–50. On the first pass the buy is almost always underwater — the only question is how deep and for how long.
Between 30 and 60 percent make a repeat deposit, and that is where the economics turn positive. But to see it you have to wait a month and be able to attribute the second deposit to the source that brought the player in.
What you need at the start
An event tied to the account rather than to the payment, and a postback that returns it to the ad account. Then the same person’s second deposit is credited to the same source without hand-matching exports.
And an internal agreement: the source is not switched off before a month, whatever the first week’s numbers look like. Otherwise analytics will be right and the buy will be at a loss.
Why a session breakdown works better than a review
A review says “great platform, recommend it.” An audience that has already played and left hears that as advertising — because that is exactly what it is.
A breakdown shows week two: where the bonus ran out, what happened with wagering, how long verification took, how the payout went. It promises nothing, and that is precisely why it convinces: the viewer recognises their own story, but with a continuation.
Bringing back those who stopped
The cheapest player is the one who already deposited and stopped logging in. They are not in the acquisition funnel, nobody counts them, and they usually get operator emails they never open.
A reminder from the same creator or community they came from works dramatically better. It is not a new buy — it is a second placement with the same source, and it costs the same as a regular one.
